By Robbie Weinstein, 247Sports: USC and UCLA reportedly plan to leave the Pac-12 for the Big Ten, and there is no sign that conference realignment is done. Whereas Texas and Oklahoma’s jump to the SEC made some sense geographically, the pretense of regionally based leagues is now gone.
Kirk Herbstreit said Thursday on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” that he believes college football ultimately turns into an NFL-style setup with two conferences of 25-plus teams at the highest level.
