247Sports: In what may be a last-ditch attempt to save the 2020 college football season, two player-led movements — “We Want To Play” and “We Are United” — have come together to create a list of policies they want to see implemented in order to play. Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence was one of the many players to speak out on Sunday after multiple reports indicated that college presidents may be leaning toward a cancellation of the upcoming college football season.
The “We Are United” movement consists of players from the Pac-12 Conference, Mountain West Conference and Big Ten Conference. The united group recently released a list of demands, including revenue sharing, increased health and safety protocols to combat COVID-19, extended insurance coverage and a protection of player eligibility should someone decide to sit out due to coronavirus concerns.
