Athlon Sports: College football’s 2020 season hangs in the balance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 54 teams have already decided not to play in the fall and will hope to schedule a season in the spring. As of Wednesday, Aug. 12, 76 programs are still slated to try and play a schedule in the fall. From the Power 5 conferences, the ACC, Big 12 and SEC plan to proceed, while the American, Conference USA and Sun Belt are still on track to play in 2020.
