By Paul Sorensen, CougFan.com: Other than Phil Steele, most of the preseason magazines and other paid observers of the college football world aren’t expecting a lot from Washington State’s Cougars this season. I’m here to tell you those underselling WSU are way off base.

I’ve been poring over the roster and the schedule. Two things scream out: One, there is massive, proven experience on this squad — especially on offense, where Abe Lucas and Max Borghi will contend for national honors — and two, a critical early test (vs. USC on Sept. 18 following the Utah State and Portland State games) is at home.
