247Sports: The Mountain West will not be participating during the fallĀ 2020 college football season. On Monday evening the league announced the indefinite postponement of all scheduled fall sports contests and MW championship events. TheĀ Mountain West statedĀ the decision was made āin response to the ongoing challenges with the effective mitigation and management of the COVID-19 virus in conjunction with athletic competition.ā
The Mountain West will begin exploring the possibility of rescheduling fall sports, including the possibility of those sports competing during the spring season, and develop options for consideration. At this time, there are ongoing discussions regarding the status of the leagueās winter sports.
