By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net: Breakups are never easy, and that old adage has been underscored over the last couple of weeks as the Mountain West and its flagship athletic department, San Diego State, have battled, largely in private, over the Aztecs’ potential exit from the league.
That back and forth was documented by the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Mark Zeigler last week after SDSU sent notice to the conference it was not leaving the league. The conference responded by saying its resignation had already been tendered.
