This is the second in my series of interviews with 2023 SuperWest nonconference football opponents.
In this episode, I talk with East Village Times writer Andre Haghverdian about the state of the San Diego State Football program.
We also talk about SDSU’s back-to-back matchups with UCLA and Oregon State and take a deep dive into the Aztec offense.
Haghverdian gives us his sense of the September 9th home game against the Bruins in Snapdragon Stadium and the September 16th game against the Beavers in Corvallis.
UCLA leads the all-time series with San Diego State 21-1-1, with the lone Aztec win coming in their most recent tilt, a 23-14 victory over the Bruins in Pasadena in 2019.
The Beavers and Aztecs have played just five times, with OSU winning the last three dating back to 2000, and SDSU winning the first two in 1972 and 1975, respectively.
You can reach Haghverdian on Twitter at @ahaghver23, and I’m always open to your comments at @WordsByBartlett.
