247Sports: According to the University of Michigan’s student-run newspaper The Michigan Daily, the Michigan health department will suspend all Wolverines athletics for two weeks after a student-athlete tested positive for the B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant. A student-athlete was the first confirmed case of the new virus variant in the state.
The pause will begin starting on Sunday, January 24. The Daily is reporting that there were five confirmed cases of the new variant and 15 more presumed positive cases.
