Lawyers to file lawsuit against UO related to beach volleyball, club rowing

By James Crepea, The Oregonian/OregonLive: Lawyers retained by current and former members of the University of Oregon’s beach volleyball team and women’s club rowing team are going to file a federal lawsuit against the school for what they say is discrimination against women athletes and potential athletes in violation of Title IX.

Arthur H. Bryant of Bailey & Glasser, LLP, sent a three-page letter to UO president John Karl Scholz last month outlining claims of the school’s Title IX noncompliance and requesting a meeting with him or the school’s general counsel to discuss the matter.

Attorney Arthur H. Bryant of Bailey & Glasser, LLP said talks with UO's lawyers earlier this month were “incredibly disappointing,” that the school is denying any wrongdoing and unwilling to make many of the changes his clients are requesting.
