Former USC football player pleads guilty in COVID scheme

By ESPN: A former college football player pleaded guilty Monday in a scheme to fraudulently obtain COVID-related unemployment benefits, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Abdul-Malik McClain, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud for orchestrating a scheme that netted $283,063 and sought at least $1,056,092, the Justice Department said in a news release.
