The Bootleg: The ‘21 recruiting class has seen the novel coronavirus seriously impact its final year of high school. The virus eliminated or severely compromised senior proms and graduation ceremonies for the ‘20 class, but it’s also highlighted the big divide in every recruiting class. For elite recruits, the questions become about early enrolling and whether they are in a state where they can play their senior year of high school. For recruits below that top tier who are not committed or who are still trying to earn a scholarship, it’s clearly devastating to face the prospect of no final season of high school. However, there are also big implications based on where we’re at right now with regard to the ‘22 class.
