One week from today, Trotter might just lead South Alabama on a stage no one expected even a few weeks ago: the first FBS college football game in the coronavirus era. Fresh off the practice field last week, Trotter did not mince words about the showdown with Southern Miss set for Thursday, Sept. 3. One misstep, he said, could derail his dream. A few bad days at practice could lead to the bench.
