Cal, Stanford two of ’10 bleakest QB situations’ among Power 4 teams in 2025

By Will Backus, CBS Sports: Looking around the post-spring landscape, there are a lot of really good quarterbacks in college football. After a down year — from the NFL Draft perspective, at least — in 2024, the 2025 season is shaping up as solid for the most important position on the field.

Players like LSU’s Garrett NussmeierPenn State’s Drew Allar and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik eschewing the draft for another year at their respective schools certainly helps the perception. As does the arrival of Texas‘ Arch Manning, the most ballyhooed recruit in recent memory who finally gets his chance to start in the wake of Quinn Ewers’ departure.

Unfortunately, not every program can tout its quarterback room. Yes, even in a year like 2025, there are a handful of schools with a lot to be desired under center.
