Bear Territory: The California Golden Bears have learned the fate of one of their star seniors from the 2020 football roster. Fifth-Year senior offensive lineman Jake Curhan announced that he will forego his extra year of eligibility and pursue the 2021 NFL Draft.
When the NCAA approved an extra year of eligibility for all football student-athletes due to the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, players at Cal were exactly who they had in mind – not wanting a brief four-game season to cost them a full season. But with 40 career starts under his belt, Curhan decided he was ready to move on. Curhan was among the many Golden Bears who missed action in 2020 – ending a 39-game starting streak at right tackle.
