By Steven Lassan, Athlon Sports: College football’s new 12-team playoff presents opportunities for all 134 teams in the 2024 season, and that’s especially true with the Big 12 as depth and a wide-open conference race are the biggest storylines this fall. The Big 12 expanded to 16 teams with the arrival of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona State this year, giving the conference even more depth and potential contenders with an expanded field in ’24.
With the 2024 college football season less than 50 days away, it’s never too early to project the bowls and playoff contenders for the expanded 16-team Big 12. In Athlon’s projections, the Big 12 will get one team in the playoff and 10 others in a bowl game
