By Chris Karpman, SunDevil Source: Jean Boyd will retire from his role as Arizona State’s deputy athletics director in May after 29 years with the department due to family dynamics, he exclusively told Sun Devil Source in a lengthy interview ahead of his planned departure.
A former Sun Devil football player in the early 1990s, Boyd led the remarkable improvement of student-athlete academic performance over a multi-decade period that included a dramatic department-wide increase in graduation rates and APR (academic progress rate) scores.
