ACC college football continues in Week 11 with seven games.

I preview all of them here, breaking down what’s at stake and what both teams must do to win.

Last week, I went 5-1 straight up, hitting 83% of my predictions. That gives me a 59-27 conference record, good for a 69% success rate on the season.

My picks for this week, both against the spread and straight up, are included with each breakdown as summarized in the table below.

No. 4 Miami at Georgia Tech

Saturday, November 9
9:00 am PT, ESPN

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: Miami -11.5

What’s at Stake: The final score of Miami’s game against Duke doesn’t indicate how close the game was.

There’s a reason why the Hurricanes aren’t favored more heavily in this matchup. Mario Cristobal’s squad might be undefeated, but there are plenty of questions surrounding the team.

A convincing win against Georgia Tech would help alleviate some of those concerns.

Why Miami Wins: The running backs are efficient, Cam Ward picks and chooses his throws, and the defense contains Georgia Tech’s quarterback run plays.

Why Georgia Tech Wins: Haynes King is healthy and runs the ball like he normally does. On defense, the front seven gets short-yardage stops on third down.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Miami
Straight Up: Miami

Syracuse at Boston College

Saturday, November 9
9:00 am PT, The CW

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: Boston College -2.5

What’s at Stake: Syracuse is on the precipice of a special season.

Since joining the ACC in 2013, the Orange have just a single season with more than seven wins. But with a 6-2 record and multiple winnable games remaining, Syracuse is threatening to break through.

A victory over Boston College would be a statement to the rest of the ACC.

Why Syracuse Wins: Kyle McCord doesn’t turn the ball over, the run game is reasonably established, and the defense contains Thomas Castellanos on the ground.

Why Boston College Wins: Castellanos isn’t bothered by his lower-body injury, runs like he normally does, and the front seven gets pressure on McCord to speed up his decision-making process.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Boston College
Straight Up: Boston College

No. 19 Clemson at Virginia Tech

Saturday, November 9
12:30 pm PT, ESPN

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: Clemson -6.5

What’s at Stake: Clemson is looking to rebound after getting upset by Louisville.

Similarly, Virginia Tech blew a 21-3 second-half lead to Syracuse and lost in overtime.

Both teams need to regain momentum to get their seasons back on track.

Why Clemson Wins: The secondary prevents chunk plays through the air and the offense is efficient on third down.

Why Virginia Tech Wins: The Hokies win the time of possession battle and convert their red zone trips into touchdowns.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Clemson
Straight Up: Clemson

Florida State at No. 10 Notre Dame

Saturday, November 9
4:30 pm PT, NBC

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: Notre Dame -25.5

What’s at Stake: Florida State is at risk of getting embarrassed.

The College Football world has mostly forgotten about the program, but the matchup on NBC against Notre Dame is a spotlight.

The Vegas oddsmakers are expecting a substantial blowout and the game could get ugly.

Why Florida State Wins: The run game breaks out of its funk and the defense wins the turnover margin.

Why Notre Dame Wins: The defensive line handles FSU’s poor offensive front to make the Seminoles one-dimensional and inefficient.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Notre Dame
Straight Up: Notre Dame

Virginia at No. 23 Pittsburgh

Saturday, November 9
5:00 pm PT, ACC Network

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: Pitt -7.5

What’s at Stake: No longer undefeated, Pitt returns home looking to get back on track.

Virginia has lost three straight games and is in the middle of a tough stretch in its schedule.

How the Panthers look coming off a loss will indicate the strength or weakness of the roster.

Why Virginia Wins: Anthony Colandrea uses his legs to create positive plays on the ground and the defense creates multiple turnovers.

Why Pittsburgh Wins: The defense contains Colandrea from effectively scrambling and the running backs exceed their averages.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Pitt
Straight Up: Pitt

Best Bets

Cal at Wake Forest

Friday, November 8
5:00 pm PT, ACC Network

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: California -7

What’s at Stake: The Bears go on the road to face a struggling Wake Forest team.

The Deacons were blown out by Ole Miss, lost to Louisiana at home, beat UConn by just three, and only beat Stanford by a field goal.

This is not a game California should struggle in. Anything less than a convincing win would be a worrying sign.

Why California Wins: The run game is established on the ground and the secondary forces multiple interceptions.

Why Wake Forest Wins: The defensive line gets consistent penetration into the backfield and the offense doesn’t turn the ball over.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: California
Straight Up: California

Duke at NC State

Saturday, November 9
12:30 pm PT, ACC Network

BETMGMSPORTSBOOK Line: NC State -3

What’s at Stake: Duke was right in the game with Miami and continues to be underappreciated.

But the Blue Devils have lost two straight games and three of their last four.

Still, Manny Diaz’s team could win out and it starts with NC State.

Why Duke Wins: Maalik Murphy is accurate under pressure and the front seven wins the physicality battle in the trenches.

Why North Carolina State Wins: The offensive line provides the time needed for CJ Bailey to execute throws and the secondary generates interceptions.

—My Picks—
Against Spread: Duke
Straight Up: Duke
