This is the 11th in my series of interviews with selected 2023 SuperWest nonconference football opponents.
In this episode, I talk with Colten Bartholomew, Wisconsin beat writer for the BadgerExtra and Wisconsin State Journal, about Washington State’s game this week against the Badgers of the Big Ten.
We discuss the Badgers roster, preview the Cougars-Badgers game, give our predictions, and reflect on last year’s surprising outcome.
The teams are coming off similar seasons, with both going 7-6 in 2022. Wisconsin defeated Oklahoma State in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl whereas WSU lost to Fresno State in the LA Bowl.
They face off on September 9 at Martin Stadium at 4:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
Wisconsin leads the all-time series between the teams 3-1, with Wazzu upsetting the Badgers 17-14 last year in Madison. Saturday’s game marks the first time they will meet in Pullman.
