Michael Martinez, a Senior Broadcaster for SportsPac12, and a former All-Conference defensive lineman for UCLA, is the host of “The Michael Martinez Show,” and a co-host of the SportsPac12 “WhipAround” podcast.
Prior to joining SportsPac12, he co-hosted a Rivals football and basketball show on BruinBlitz, hosted UCLA pregame and postgame shows for XTRA Sports AM 570 in Burbank, appeared as a weekly guest analyst for 710 ESPN radio in Los Angeles, and a hosted a weekly Pac-12 talk show for KWAX 107.1 FM in Pasadena.
He also worked as sideline reporter for Sports USA Radio Network, and as a traveling football spotter for Fox Sports NFL Sunday.
Martinez was drafted out of high school as a pitcher by the Los Angeles Angels, but chose to attend UCLA on a football scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He was named captain of the Bruins’ special teams and was awarded the N.N. Sugarman Perpetual Trophy for Outstanding Leadership.
