Week two in the NFL brought some surprising results and plenty of standout performances by former SuperWest players.
Each week I highlight the Top 10 performances of West Coast school alums in our coverage footprint.
I’ve also included five additional players who just missed making the list.
Top 10 NFL Performers
1. Derek Carr, QB, Saints/Fresno State
The former Bulldog was an efficient 11 of 16 for 243 yards and two TDs through the air.
He added a rushing TD as he led the Saints to a 2-0 mark with a 44-19 win over the Cowboys in Dallas.
2. Sam Darnold, QB, Vikings/USC
The former Trojan continues to perform for the Vikings going 17 for 26 with 268 yards including a 97-yard passing TD.
He also got things done on the ground as well with five carries for 32 yards as the Vikings upset San Francisco 23-17 to improve to 2-0.
3. Davante Adams, WR, Raiders/Fresno State
The Fresno State product had a productive afternoon for the Raiders.
The star receiver hauled in nine receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Ravens.
4. Budda Baker, DB, Cardinals/Washington
The former Husky had eight tackles for Arizona in the win over the Rams.
He led the way for a defense that allowed just 245 total offensive yards in the 41-10 romp.
5. Fred Warner, LB, 49ers/BYU
Warner was a bright spot for the Niners in their loss to the Vikings in Minneapolis.
The former Cougar ended the day with seven tackles, a sack, and an interception.
6. Frankie Luvu, LB, Commanders/Washington State
In a game where the Commanders failed to find the end zone, Luvu stepped up big in the defensive effort.
The former WSU star led Washington with six tackles in the 21-18 win over New York.
7. Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Lions/USC
The Lions came up short in week two falling to Tampa Bay 20-16.
However, the All-Pro WR had himself a day with 11 receptions for 119 yards.
8. Carl Granderson, DE, Saints/Wyoming
The former Cowboy helped New Orleans shut down the NFL team that shares the same name as his alma mater.
Granderson totaled five tackles, and 1.5 sacks in the 44-19 beat down of Dallas.
9. Ka’imi Fairbairn, K, Texans/UCLA
The Texans have relied heavily this season on the leg of the former Bruin. Fairbairn was 4 of 4 on FG attempts with a long of 59 in the 19-13 win over Chicago.
He is now perfect this season on his seven FG tries with four of them from 50+ yards.
10. Logan Wilson, LB, Bengals/Wyoming
Wilson made things difficult on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense as he ended the day with 12 tackles, seven of which were solo.

- Matt Araiza, P, Chiefs/San Diego State — 2 punts, 56.0 yards both pinned the Bengals inside the 20
- Paulson Adebo, CB, Saints/Stanford — 4 tackles and an INT
- Bobby Okereke, LB, Giants/Stanford — 5 tackles and a sack
- Bobby Wagner, LB, Commanders/Utah State — 5 tackles
- Jared Goff, QB, Lions/California — 34 of 55 for 307 but 2 picks
