It was another good week for several former SuperWest players.
Each week I highlight the Top 10 performances of West Coast school alums in our coverage footprint.
Here are my choices for Week 17.
Top 10 Week 17 NFL Performers
1. Sam Darnold, QB, Vikings/USC
The Vikings QB threw for a career-high 377 with three touchdown passes and a 116.1 passer rating in the pivotal win over Green Bay.The former Trojan is the first starting quarterback in NFL history to record 14 wins in his first season with a team.
Darnold is the fourth player in NFL history with 12 games with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100-or-higher in a season.
2. Bucky Irving, RB, Buccaneers/Oregon
Irving continues to solidify himself as a premier back in his rookie season.
In the big win over the Panthers, he had 113 yards on 20 carries while adding another 77 yards receiving on four catches.
The former Duck is the first Tampa Bay rookie to gain more than 1,000 rushing yards since 2012.
3. Leonard Williams, DT, Seahawks/USC
Williams had five tackles, two sacks, and three tackles for loss in Seattle’s 6-3 win over Chicago.
The former Trojan also finished the Thursday night game with four QB hits.
4. Puka Nacua, WR, Rams/BYU
The former BYU star was just about all the Rams had offensively in their win over the Cardinals.
Nacua accounted for 68.3% of the Rams receiving yards and caught 58.8% of Matthew Stafford’s completions.
He ended the day with 10 catches for 129 yards.
5. Tyler Huntley, QB, Dolphins/Utah
Huntley stepped in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa and delivered a big win for the Dolphins.
The former Ute only had four incompletions in 26 pass attempts as he threw for 225 and a TD.
He added a rushing TD as he led Miami in rushing with 52 yards on the ground.
6. Trey McBride, TE, Cardinals/Colorado State
McBride once again came up big for Arizona, despite the Cardinals falling to the Rams on Saturday.
The former CSU Ram caught 10 passes for 123 yards and a TD.
7. Jared Goff, QB, Lions/Cal
Goff had a huge Monday Night game as he willed the Lions to victory over the Niners.
The former Golden Bear threw for 303 yards and three TDs.
8. Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers/Oregon
Justin Herbert threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns as Los Angeles beat up on New England.
It was a season-high in TD passes for the former Duck star.
Herbert also surpassed Peyton Manning with 20,619 passing yards, setting a new NFL record for the most passing yards through the first five seasons of a career.
9. Josh Allen, QB, Bills/Wyoming
Allen threw for 187 yards and ran for 17 as the Bills dominated the Jets.The former Cowboy had three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the win and has 76 career regular-season wins, the most regular-season wins by a QB in his first seven seasons in NFL history.
Allen also has 40 combined TDs this season and joined Aaron Rodgers among the only players in NFL history with at least five seasons with at least 40 combined TDs.
10. Jahlani Tavai, LB, Patriots/Hawai’i
The former Rainbow Warrior had another good game for the Patriots as his sixth NFL season is shaping up to be his best.
Tavai finished the loss against the Chargers with 10 tackles, and he allowed just 8.3 yards per reception in coverage.

Bo Nix, QB, Broncos/Oregon—219 yards and 3 TD passes, 31 rushing yards
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Falcons/Washington–223 yards and a TD
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts/USC—9 catches for 109 yards and a TD
Devin Lloyd, LB, Jaguars/Utah—6 tackles and an INT
Drake London, WR, Falcons/USC—7 receptions for 106 yards
