Zemek: Long-term assumptions of BYU athletes aren't just lazy, they're wrong

By Matt Zemek, BYU Cougars Wire: BYU football and, more broadly, BYU athletics have had to put up with whining from the outside world about the age and maturity of their athletes. “It’s such an advantage for BYU” that the Cougars have older athletes coming back from Mormon missions.

That’s a reflexive, automatic, “shoot first, ask questions later” approach which hasn’t really sought to learn anything. It’s an assumption, and we all know what assumptions often do.
