UTEP football embraces new era at Mountain West media days

By Chas Messman, Nevada Sports Net: A new chapter in UTEP football officially began this week at Mountain West Football Media Days inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The Miners have officially joined the Mountain West and are one of three new additions this football season, alongside Northern Illinois and North Dakota State. This transition reignites old rivalries from their days in the Western Athletic Conference, while also introducing new opponents. As the 2026 season approaches, it feels like UTEP is right where they belong.
