CougFan: An undermanned Jacksonville team wanted to lose yesterday to Chicago in order to ensure themselves the No. 1 pick in this spring’s NFL draft. The Jaguars were so committed to the endeavor they started Mike Glennon at quarterback over Gardner Minshew.
Minshew, who missed six weeks this season with a thumb injury, was coming off a 22-29/2 TD/0 INT effort the week before. Giving the starting nod to the uninspiring Glennon was shamelessly transparent. But the plan worked.
