By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: Who could crash the College Football Playoff party next season? College football boasts the most exciting regular season in sports, but the primary issue across 3.5 months of action annually is the predictability of teams in the national championship race. Since the postseason went to its four-team Playoff in 2014, only 11 different programs have reached the semifinals, a reality that has summoned expansion talks and heightened the need for increased parity.
Ahead of the 2021 season, there are several teams hovering in or just outside of the Top 25 capable of making their grand entrance in the Playoff, some much less predictable than others. And if they aren’t invited to the ball, these squads will have a say in the teams that do reach the final four.
