By Carter Bahns, 247Sports: Traditional college football spring games largely went by the wayside in 2025 as coaches shared concerns over transfer portal tampering, injuries and other pertinent issues that often reared their heads at the end of previous camps.
Not every program shied away from open scrimmages, though, and a few that rolled out new spring game formats also garnered attention. Fans turned out in droves at a handful of schools, even with the overall attendance numbers tumbling across the country
