By Tim Prangley, Trojans Wire: It almost seems cliché for fans of the winning team to dismiss claims of egregiously bad officiating by fans of the losing team as “whining.” This claim is one of the more illogical comments in sports. Officiating can have a huge impact on the game.
There is a reason why some things are illegal in football. Holding negates speed and presents clear advantages in protecting the quarterback and opening holes in the run game. Facemasks, horse collars and blindside blocks can end careers or worse.
