By Nick Kosko, 247Sports: Tommy Lloyd was named the new head coach of Arizona basketball on Wednesday. While he seems to have the support of the fan base and alumni, there’s a little unrest.
Richard Jefferson, an Arizona alum and former 18-year NBA veteran, is on board with Lloyd to an extent. In a released statement, Jefferson criticized the process of Arizona hiring a new coach, particularly with their handling of alumni and internal candidates.
On Thursday, Jefferson released a passionate statement.
