Utah’s Devin Lloyd figures to be the best player on a Ute defense that will likely be among the best in the nation.

Lloyd was seen as a sure-fire NFL Draft pick had he chosen to leave after the 2020 season, but he decided to return, saying he wanted to “leave with a championship, with a nice little ring on my finger.”

The California native led Utah with 48 total tackles and 10 tackles for loss, adding two sacks and a forced fumble last season.

Lloyd’s end-of-season honors included an All-Pac-12 First Team selection and a Sporting News All-America Second Team selection after being named a finalist for the Butkus and Pop Warner awards.

Lloyd put his NFL plans on hold to take care of unfinished business in 2021.
