Pac-12

The first intra-conference game of the Pac-12’s 2022 schedule is in the books, and USC’s offense was firing on all cylinders on Saturday in a 41-28 win at Stanford for Lincoln Riley’s first Power 5 victory as the Trojans’ head coach.

USC’s offense propelled them to one of the most notable wins of the weekend in the Pac-12, but it was still second fiddle on a conference level to Washington State’s HUGE upset on the road at No. 19 Wisconsin.

That victory was, literally, a historic win for the Cougars and HC Jake Dickert.

On today’s episode of Locked On Pac-12, I assess the Conference’s performance over the weekend in Week 2 of college football.

Washington State’s win over a ranked Big Ten team on the road for the first time in program history made a massive statement for the conference and for how we should view the Cougars in 2022.

For the second week in a row, Oregon State and Jonathan Smith find themselves in the “winners” category after a road win at Fresno State—something they had also never done before as a program.

The highs were high, but it was far from a perfect weekend in the Pac-12 on the gridiron.

To keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive and well, Utah needed Florida to perform well in 2022; instead, the Gators dropped a game in The Swamp to No. 20 Kentucky.

Colorado suffered another blowout loss at Air Force and might be heating up the seat underneath Karl Dorrell.

I go through where the rest of the Pac-12 teams fell on the winners/losers scale from the weekend.
