Duck Territory: Mario Cristobal prides himself on being one of the nation’s very best recruiting coaches. It’s a skill that has not been developed overnight. Even as a teenager, Oregon’s head coach showed a knack for it.
During a recent interview with the Athletic’s Andy Staples, Cristobal revealed that he was a visit host for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson during his recruitment in the early 1990s. An offensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes, Cristobal reminisced about his first encounter with what would become a teammate and eventually one of the planet’s biggest film stars.
