So many different things can happen right now in college sports, and because so much of the current era is new and unprecedented (a pandemic, a 12-team playoff, a new Pac-12 commissioner), old assumptions don’t necessarily apply.
Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff has stated to ESPN that his conference won’t try to poach potential Big 12 refugees if the Big 12 splinters and gets picked apart by the other Power Five conferences:
