By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: The final weeks of the regular season arrive, filled with matchups loaded with College Football Playoff implications. The 10 most important games left on the schedule all influence the selection committee’s final rankings as the playoff field narrows to 12 with a strong emphasis on strength of schedule, quality wins and conference championships won.
Coming out of Week 11, we’re expecting mass changes in Tuesday’s second playoff top 25, including quite the tumble for Georgia and Miami after road losses to Ole Miss and Georgia Tech. Those setbacks opened the door for others in the SEC and ACC to make their move in the final stages this fall.
For this exercise, the only exclusions are potential conference championship game matchups. Those will obviously greatly impact the selection committee’s final rankings in early December.
