Colorado promotes DL coach Chris Wilson to defensive coordinator

BuffZone: The Buffaloes have handed defensive coordinator duties over to Chris Wilson, head coach Karl Dorrell announced on Friday. And as expected, Shannon Turley is set to take over as the new head strength and conditioning coach in Boulder.

For Wilson, who also oversees the development of CU’s defensive linemen, it marks the second time in his coaching career he has been a defensive coordinator. After serving as a co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Mississippi State in 2010, he was elevated to full-time coordinator status for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. The Bulldogs ranked fourth in the SEC in points allowed per game in 2011 and then 7th out of 14 teams in the category in 2012.
