BuffStampede: BuffStampede.com has confirmed senior inside linebacker Akil Jones has entered the NCAA transfer portal, after four years at Colorado. Head coach Karl Dorrell hinted on Friday that Jones was likely to play out his final year of eligibility elsewhere. Jones became a father to a son, Adonis, in early December. His son lives in New Jersey.
After battling a number of different injuries as an underclassman at CU, Jones emerged as a starter midway through his redshirt junior campaign in 2019. His 61 tackles ranked second on the team. Jones recorded 18 tackles in four games of action during the abbreviated 2020 regular season.
