By Chris Bengel, CBS Sports: The Cleveland Browns have landed on a starting quarterback for the start of the regular season. The Browns have named Joe Flacco the team’s starting quarterback for its Week 1 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 7, the team announced on Monday.
Flacco signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Browns in April. The Browns coaching staff elected to sit Flacco throughout the preseason as the veteran quarterback did not take a single snap.
Flacco was able to beat out a Browns quarterback room that include Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders and Tyler Huntley.
