By Barry Bolton, CougFan: There is plenty of season left but at this point, Kyle Smith is doing his darnedest to make it a one-man race for the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year award. The Cougs are tied for second in the Pac-12 with 8-4 mark in conference play.
Only two other WSU teams in the last four decades have posted a better record in conference play through 12 games: George Raveling’s 1982-83 Cougs and Tony Bennett’s 2006-07 Cougs.
