By Barry Bolton, CougFan: Kamie Ethridge was named the women’s basketball coach of the year by The Athletic on Thursday. She garnered the top vote of three of the six women’s college basketball writers after leading the Cougs this past weekend to their first basketball championship of any kind since 1941.
Ethridge should have but didn’t receive much of a media buzz for the Pac-12 coach of the year honor, given out at the end of the regular season to a deserving recipient in Utah’s Lynne Roberts.
