By Dean Straka, 247Sports: Washington State football plans to start sophomore quarterback Jayden de Laura on Saturday for the Cougars’ Week 2 matchup vs. Portland State, head coach Nick Rolovich told reporters Wednesday.
 Tennessee transfer Jarrett Guarantano started for Washington State in Week 1 against Utah State, but exited with an injury and was replaced by de Laura in what would be a 26-23 loss for the Cougars.
