By Barry Bolton, CougFan: Washington State will reduce athletic department spending by $11 million in the next fiscal year, which begins July 1, the WSU Board of Regents learned in budget presentations today.
The regents are expected to approve by the time their quarterly meeting ends tomorrow. The 12.9 percent drop — to $74 million from the current fiscal year’s $85 million — is driven by the media rights revenue chasm stemming from the implosion of the Pac-12 Conference.
