Washington State athletic director Jon Haarlow tweeted out photos of the field being renovated and re-turfed on Tuesday, and that includes going from FieldTurf to AstroTurf, a source with knowledge tells Cougfan.com.
According to Google, “FieldTurf is a modern, ‘infilled’ system with long, soft plastic blades and a sand/rubber mix designed to mimic real grass. AstroTurf is a brand known for its earlier, dense, low-pile, ‘carpet-like’ surface that is harder underfoot.”
