By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: It might feel like he’s been a quarterback at Washington State forever, but Saturday’s 20-3 romp over Colorado State was Zevi Eckhaus’ first career win as a Cougar starter. Eckhaus (6-0, 209) went 16-of-28 for 189 yards and two touchdowns, also carrying eight times for 30 hashes. After the win, Eckhaus tipped his cap to Mike Leach.
“I thought we played really well as a unit,” Eckhaus said “Obviously, we got a little stagnant in the second half there. The defense played their butts off as far as getting stops over and over.
