By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net: When Wyoming football hosts Nevada later this fall, the Cowboys will retire Josh Allen’s No. 17. It’s a no-brainer decision because how often does an NFL MVP hail from a Mountain West school?
The answer is two with the other being San Diego State’s Marshall Faulk winning MVP in 2000, although Faulk played for the Aztecs when the school was in the WAC, making Allen the only player to actually play in the MW before winning NFL MVP.
