Duck Territory: Mario Cristobal sought out and brought Jim Mastro on staff in 2018 shortly after replacing Willie Taggart as the team’s head coach.
Not only was Mastro a proven running backs coach, but the addition also provided an offensive innovator to the staff — one who helped develop the pistol offense at Nevada in the mid-2000s.
