By Connor Seuferling, Sports Contributor, The Daily Evergreen: South Dakota State football coach Jimmy Rogers resigned Saturday after accepting the head coaching position at Washington State.
Rogers posted a 27-3 record in two seasons as Jackrabbit head coach, including leading SDSU to a 15-0 record and its second consecutive national championship during his inaugural campaign in 2023.
Honored with the Eddie Robinson Award as the top coach in the Football Championship Subdivision in 2023, Rogers helped guide the Jackrabbits to a 29-game winning streak between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
During the recently completed 2024 season, SDSU earned a share of its third consecutive Missouri Valley Football Conference title and reached the semifinals of the FCS playoffs for the fifth consecutive year before finishing with a 12-3 record.
