By Matt Howe, 247Sports: The SEC is on the brink of expanding from 14 teams to 16 after its presidents and chancellors extended invitations to the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma on Thursday.
In doing so, the SEC will add two of college football’s most storied programs and biggest brands, thereby making the league the clear-cut top conference in the sport.
