What does new men’s hoops head coach Justin Joyner bring to Oregon State?

By Angie Machado, BeaverBlitz: It’s official. Oregon State has named Justin Joyner as the new head men’s basketball coach to lead the Beavers into the new Pac-12-era.

Joyner joins Oregon State after two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan under head coach Dusty May. In his first year with the Wolverines, he helped more than triple their win total from the previous season, finishing with a 27-10 record and a Big Ten Tournament Championship.

Prior to Michigan, Joyner spent seven seasons under longtime coach Randy Bennett at Saint Mary’s College. He began as Director of Basketball Operations in 2017 before being promoted to assistant coach and later associate head coach for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
