Wetzel: Do fans tune out CFB next year because of 'disaster' that is NIL?

By Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports: Some 8.8 million people tuned into ESPN to watch Texas-Alabama last week, the most-viewed Saturday game on the network since 2014.

It just barely edged out the 8.7 million who watched Nebraska-Colorado on Fox, but was just behind the 9.2 million ESPN drew the week prior for a Sunday broadcast of Florida State-LSU.

If anything, the era of NIL and the transfer portal is leveling the playing field at the top of college football.
