By Roman Tomashoff, Huskies Wire: Since Jedd Fisch took over at the helm of the Washington Huskies, he has adopted what he considers to be an NFL approach to roster building.
At the college level, the head coach has defined that as building the majority of his program through the ranks of high school recruiting, while using the transfer portal (or free agency, as he rightfully calls it) as a supplementary piece to mainly bring in depth pieces at positions where the Huskies may be lacking a body or two. Fisch has also taken to mainly going after players who stand out at lower levels, like the Group of Six or FCS programs, who are looking for bigger opportunities.
