By Roman Tomashoff, Huskies Wire: It shouldn’t come as a surprise that, with the success Washington Huskies defensive coordinator Ryan Walters experienced in 2025, some teams would try to poach him from Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff.
On Monday afternoon, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Walters is a name to watch in Tennessee’s search for a new coordinator after coach Josh Heupel fired Tim Banks on Monday after five years with the Volunteers. In his place, former Washington linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator William Inge is expected to serve as the team’s interim DC for the Music City Bowl on December 30.
